NeXEO has integrated the University of Minnesota Mapserver system with our built-in GIS capability to provide the means with which to allow NeXEO users to display their favorite map data (many raster and vector data types are supported) in NeXEO. Notice in this screenshot the use of JPL earth imagery (more info here) as a background for the NeXEO map. |
Earthquake Alerts - Showing a recent ‘Earthquake Alert’, notice the target on top of the Earthquake Alert icon. |
Sensor Support - Showing a custom sensor view with live remote sensor data, and a time-synchronized chart. |
NWS Alerts - Showing active (orange) and expired (gray) ‘Weather Warnings’, with the affected counties highlighted on the GIS. Notice the correspondence between the weather radar overlay and the weather warnings. |
Incident Detail – Shows how the colors of the buttons change when a new item is added to the system. The count on the button is also updated, and in this case the active count was incremented. Since the ‘Support Region’ was set to ‘ Statewide Counties (and State EOC)’, this data was queued to be exported for sharing as a CAP Alert. Notice the affected counties are orange in color in the map. |
Time-line view – The time-line view depicts actions in the system, sorted by time. |
Tree-View – The data in the system can be viewed as a tree-like structure. Notice the link ‘Email this page’ which allows the user to email the data to another person. |
Log Entries -
Log entries are capable of containing any kind of HTML, allowing for special text formatting, the ability to link to images, file attachments, documents, and other web addresses. A log entry can also contain ‘County’, ‘Latitude’, ‘Longitude’, and whether or not it needs ‘further processing’. If the log entry needs processing, then a user who is a member of the ‘Log Processor’ group can process it. Images and Excel documents are examples of ‘File Attachments’ that can be associated with a particular log entry. Note: Thumbnails for images are automatically created, and a sample of this can be seen above. |
Status Boards - Status board field entries are capable of HTML, which allows for special text formatting, the ability to link to images, file attachments, documents, and other web addresses. Notice the image of the tornado and the ‘S JONES CONTACT SHEET.doc, which is a Microsoft document containing additional information. Also, the fields are dynamically highlighted ‘yellow’ when another person updates the field while the status board is in use by another user. To change any of the status board fields, you simply click the edit button and the form automatically changes the field to ‘input’ status. |
Assignments and Tasks - When a supervisor assigns a task, they can either assign it to an individual, group such as ‘Log Processor’, an agency, or an ESF. The necessary parties are notified by system messaging and screen-coloring updates (buttons turn red) of the assignments. Note: a data item can have an unlimited number of assignments that mix-and-match the different assignable entities. |
Assignment Notifications - A message is sent to a user if the supervisor assigns them a task. They can click on the message to view the new task. The user can then either ‘Reject’ the assignment in which the admin is notified; or they can mark the assignment as ‘Completed’. |
